Save time with T1-11 SIPS....................
The above structure, designed by J.M. Chovan, AIA of Arrasmith, Judd, & Rapp (Louisville) is The Temple -- Congregation Adath Israel B'rith Sholom. It is located in Louisville, KY and is being built by Bornstein Building Company. The unique feature about the SIPS on this commercial project, is the use of T1-11 plywood as the interior finish on the panel. The roof has wooden trusses on 10' centers with panels spanning across the trusses. Each panel consists of OSB, 5 11/16" EPS, and ½" Fir T1-11. This allows for a roofing product that supplies the insulation, sheathing and interior finish all in one panel !!
Joe Matthews, a traveling SIP installer from Pittsburgh, PA, was able to set 60 panels in just over 6 hours using a crane. The project is moving along and will be completed by the end of the year. We'll be sure to keep up with the energy efficiency results in future issues.

Anthony Schembari is the Fischer Groups new marketing intern. Anthony has been working with the herd since October 2000. He is a junior at Bellarmine University where his major is Business (marketing) and he also has a minor in Psychology. He is the current service chairman of Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity. |
